So I've had, like, a gazillion things to blog about lately and ZERO time to do it. When did my life get to be so busy??? I remember waking up at 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning, eating some breakfast, and then going back to bed until noon. At around noon, I'd get up, change clothes, watch a little T.V., then take a little siesta from about 2 - 4 p.m. Ahhh... That was the life, wasn't it??
No more... Now my life is filled with dance lessons, tumbling, cheer leading, homework, birthday parties, fall festivals, pyscho serial-authorities-reporter MIL from hell... The list just goes on and on. Not that I'm complaining...well, maybe a little. Especially the MIL thing. I'm totally sick of her. And I'm tired from all the other activities. And I can't find the time to do what I love most - blogging.
To be totally honest, time isn't the only factor interfering with my blog time. That crazy heifer of a MIL has me a little gun-shy. Apparently, everything I've ever written has come back to haunt me. Complete with a mentally deranged spin on it. Courtesy of Judy, of course. And her imaginary friends. AnywaypraisetheLordandlet'smoveon... I've decided to make this post a little collection of several excerpts among the ramblings in my mind. Here goes; enjoy!
Cheer leading
O my effn' God! This topic has me, well, um...speechless. Before I put this on blast, I've decided to give it a little more time. Suffice it to say that practicing a 5 year old from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on a school night is damn-near child abuse. Especially when said 5 year old goes to bed every night at around 7:30 p.m. And then to subject her to "pageant" type people who are always so happy and bubbly and ready to cheer, cheer, cheer?!?! Damn. Report that shit, Judy!
Hunting
It's that time of the year again, folks. Now my husband will find every excuse in the book to miss out on every momentous occasion until Christmas. Just so he can deer hunt. Oh, and teach our 6 year old to hunt, too. And to feed the needy people in our county since we don't even eat that shit. Screw family portraits and Thanksgiving dinner with family... He's got to teach my 6 year old how to shoot a gun. And feed the children in the orphanage. If those orphan children are smart, they won't eat that shit either.
Halloween
If you are old enough to get a job and buy your own candy, you are too damn old to trick-or-treat! And trick-or-treating should be done in your own neighborhood. Don't bring your 28 kids to my house just because I live in a nice neighborhood that gives out good candy. Interlopers are not allowed!
Suicide
Why do people do it? I just don't understand how someone with everything in the world to live for would want to take their own life! One of my husband's dear friends shot himself last week. It makes me angry at him when I see his family suffering. Why did he have to be so damn selfish!?!?
Corporal Punishment
Whether you agree with it or not, the schools in my area still use it for disciplinary purposes. My son got in trouble yesterday for throwing a fit when he was told to move his card. Apparently, the whole move-your-card thing is a big deal to a first grader. Especially my first grader. During his little tantrum, the teacher sent him to the Principal's office who then proceeded to call my husband. My husband gave the principal permission to give my son a paddling. Two licks. In the first grade. I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come. Thank God our baby girl knows how to act in school.
Pageants
My daughter asked if she could be in another pageant. Remember that last fiasco?!?! FML. I hope she forgets about it, but that's doubtful. Can someone please kill me now and put me out of my misery?!?! I'm having flashbacks of watching her cry on stage and listening to her brother cry the whole way home because she didn't win anything. Bless their hearts. I <3 those kids of mine!
